President Director’s Letter

Dear Valued Shareholders,

We are very pleased to have all of you as part of our RMKE big family. We pride ourselves in creating value to shareholders, as well as contributing to the growth of our nation. We believe that the infrastructure-related assets that we have created will provide steady and long-term positive returns to our Company.

The province of South Sumatra holds 39% of national coal reserves and it is currently the province with the largest coal reserves in Indonesia. Our coal infrastructure assets, are strategically located to reach all mines from Lahat and Muara Enim area. Consequently, this allow coal miners in South Sumatra to transport coal to our Port in Palembang efficiently.

Railway Solution

Due to long hauling distance from the mines to the river, we truly believe that coal transportation via railway is the most reliable and efficient mode of transportation. We have a long-standing cooperation with PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) to unload coal from several loading stations to Simpang Station. We believe that the synergy derived from this cooperation will enable us to maximize the volume through our Port.

Strong Growth Potential

There are only few mines that can secure contracts with KAI. One of the main challenges come from the limited amount of train loading station close to the mine site. By building new loading stations and improving on how each mine loads coal to train, we can unlock more coal volume from the South Sumatra region.

Strategic Assets

With all of the infrastructure that we have, we believe that we can provide the most reliable and efficient way in transporting coal from the South Sumatra region. Also, South Sumatra is very strategic to Asian countries in comparison to Kalimantan. With the growth of new coal-fired power plants from this region, we know that competitive advantage than producers in Kalimantan.

More importantly, each of us at RMKE is committed and extremely passionate about what we do. With the growth potential and what we can achieve together, we believe that RMK Energy will become one of the largest and most respected coal infrastructure companies in Indonesia.
